Meeting the challenge
of the 21th century

The respect for nature and environmental issues is among our fundamental principles. This is why the technology we use is encompassing energy efficiency and emissions safety, as well as the use of recyclable materials. Apart from these self-evident values, we also have an active, high-profile sponsorship program, supporting environmental research on desertification in Northern Nigeria supervised by the International Relations Department of the University of Hamburg.

In this respect Comden also supports the International Year of Deserts and Desertification by supporting a new scientific association in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states. NDRD_402
Having in mind that we urgently need some form of forum to bridge what could certainly be seen as the widening gap between Islam and some of the West's values and assumptions, Comden volunteered to support a new organization called the "GCC Network for Drylands Research and Development" (NDRD) with technical expertise. This scientific association should serve as a new attempt to re-establish a dialogue between different cultures and of course contribute to the advancement of drylands research and sustainable development for the benefit and wellbeing of humanity. Detailed information about the objectives, structure, etc. can be seen on the website www.ndrd.org

Remark: All the work for this association has been done pro bono from the participants - once such an “honest” project (to fight desertification) is presented to us from scientists in Nigeria - we will also help with contributing a website! For further information please contact us.
